The KW Difference 

We use joist tape on every wooden framed deck we work on. Deck joist tape seals nail and screw holes on the top of deck joists and beams from installing deck boards. Without it there is a path for water to get into the wood, and in the salty air environment it creates rot and mold. ​

We use cut sealer on all wooden framed decks, without it every cut opens up the wood to moisture causing rot and decay. Additionally PT lumber does have a warranty but if it’s not treated after a cut and maintained the warranty is void by the manufacturer. 

We use stainless steel screws on all railing and deck board connections to ensure safety, reliability, and longevity. There’s Nothing worse than dealing with rotted out nails and screws in railings, especially when someone leans on it and the whole panel falls off. Or when walking on a wooden deck and stepping on a popped up rusty nail.​

We use concrete footers in all of our deck builds, weather it’s a bearing plate or a full on concrete pile, we ensure the footer is specked to handle the intended load of the deck and then some. This is especially important when working with sandy soil.

We use g185 hot dipped galvanized structure straps and bolts for under deck connections to ensure a long lasting deck. This coating is thicker than the standard g90 coating you find in the box stores. We can also swap everything to stainless steel and maximize the life of your deck. 

We go through yearly training to maintain our installer certification with multiple manufacturers to ensure Everything is built correctly, safely and efficiently. They also train us on the warranty process and requirements. Being a certified installer allows us to register the warranty this also includes a labor warranty. Don’t get fooled by other deck builders who are not certified, without being certified some warranties are void.​
